Stain Or Paint Outdoor Wood Furniture
Stain Or Paint Outdoor Wood Furniture. There's two basic types of wood finishes for outdoor furniture - film-formers and penetrators. But soft woods may expand and contract with climate changes. and unfortunately the paint or poly isn't as flexible.
To be safe, test your stain on an area that isn't visible on the furniture to make sure it's the color you really want.
Then apply the stain all over with an old (but clean) T-shirt or cloth.
Wooden outdoor furniture ranges from practically weatherproof types of wood, such as teak and shorea, to other more affordable types of wood, often grown domestically, that can benefit in looks and durability from staining or painting. Be sure to check the undersides, too. Please see our earlier post for more information: Finishing Softwood Furniture.
